WEA President Jen Shilen has been holding open one-on-one meetings with union members on select days in January and February at Blue Note Brewing Company in downtown Woodland. As announced in the e-mail originally heralding this series of informal gatherings, she still has two days remaining in the series: Wednesday, February 19th and Monday, February 24th.
Although President Shilen is giving special attention to petition efforts in connection with the Schools and Communities First campaign sponsored by the CTA, she is also open to hearing any concerns from union members about conditions at their own worksites. If you have an issue or suggestion relating to improving the classroom experience for your students, want to learn more about the Woodland Education Association, or have comments or questions about ongoing negotiations with the school district, Jen wants to hear about it! To participate in a one-on-one conversation, visit Blue Note from 4 to 5 pm at 750 Dead Cat Alley, right behind the Woodland Post Office on Court Street.
